Background: 1950's Mitaka Stripes

Original play fields were printed with cheap ink on paper with a thin laminate covering, and then glued to the wood surface. The inks faded over time, even when kept in the best of environments, and water-staining from the cleaning techniques used in the parlors are very common. Once the damage is done, there is no way to restore them without replacing them.
